How to save $$$ to MIA
Overall rating
Even though I live in SoFlo for quite some time, I have always been using my car to get to MIA international airport. Just recently I was reminded about the very cheap and convenient option to get there - by train: TRIRAIL. For a one-way fare of 3 to 10 dollars (for me was $5.65) you get to MIA in about an hour (longer if you start from West Palm Beach). For me was 55 minutes. The last stop of TriRail is inside MIA airport and you just take the elevator or the escalator to get on the upper level, from where you find your way to your terminal. I've used it 3 times for the last 2 months. The best part is: the TraiRail parking i FREE for passengers.
TriRail also has a stop at FLL (Fort Lauderdale airport) but unlike MIA, you need to take free shuttle from the train stop to the airport itself (another 15 min), so plan your time accordingly.
Speaking of MIA - the North Terminal where American Airlines operates is simply gorgeous. New (2014), bright, multi-leveled, variety of food, drinks, restaurants and fancy shoppes - definitely my most favorite spot. I purposely arrive way earlier for my AA flights, just to hang out there, and read a book while sipping a hot drink and munching on delicious food.
